Fortune Strikes Ahead of the Year of the Horse: RM36.81 Miilion in 1+3D Jackpot Awarded in January

Many winners have come to claim their prizes. Among them, one lucky winner from Balakong, Selangor who won RM2.42 million, said in an interview that he never imagines he would experience such significant turning point at the beginning of the new year. “I joined casually, never expected it would actually be my turn. It is such a surprise,” he said.

He explained that he checked the draw results at home via the dmcGO mobile application on the night of the draw. Initially, he thought he had misread the numbers and checked them repeatedly. “When I finally confirmed the win, I didn’t shout or celebrate loudly. I just sat there, took a deep breath,” he recalled. “It felt unreal, like I was dreaming, until I called my family members over to check together and realised it was true.”

Though the winner remained low-key during the prize collection, his excitement was evident. He shared that the winning ticket was jointly purchased with his siblings. After several days of discussion, the family unanimously decided to use the winnings to provide better medical care and daily support for their mother, who is recovering from cancer and still requires long-term attention.

He shared that the prize money came at a crucial time. With his children preparing to enter university and household expenses increasing, coupled with his mother’s ongoing care needs following cancer treatment, the responsibilities had been considerable. “This money allows me to breathe a little easier and handle what needs to be done step by step,” he said.

He also added that he does not participate in every draw, but only joins occasionally when the jackpot reaches a higher amount, approaching it with a “just give it a try” mindset together with his family.
