Annual Community Aid Charity Programme:

Da Ma Cai Welcomes the Year of the Snake with RM1,618,000 for 115 Welfare Organisations

Kuala Lumpur, 5 Feb - Da Ma Cai celebrated the arrival of the auspicious Year of the Snake by continuing its tradition of community care through its Annual Community Aid Charity Programme. Since its launch in 1994, this initiative has donated over RM25 million to charitable causes nationwide, reflecting Da Ma Cai's unwavering commitment to fostering a better future.

This year, RM1,618,000 has been allocated for the Programme, benefitting 115 welfare organisations nationwide. Adding to the spirit of giving, Da Ma Cai’s mobile betting app, dmcGO, had a “Give Luck, Get Luck” Charity GO Package promotion launched earlier in January, allowed customers to actively participate in fundraising. The overwhelming support from dmcGO members enabled the company to increase additional RM500,000 to its total donation, ensuring even more organisations could benefit.

The first official launching of the Programme, held in Spastic Children's Association of Selangor and Federal Territory, was adorned with Chinese New Year decorations. A total of RM718,000 was presented to 50 charitable organisations from Kuala Lumpur, Selangor, and Pahang during the presentation ceremony.

Dato’ Sri Tan Kong Han, Managing Director of Da Ma Cai, shared: “The Year of the Snake symbolises resilience, wisdom, and transformation. These values inspire our Annual Community Aid Charity Programme as we strive to uplift communities and empower lives. Together with our customers, we hope to spread festive blessings and create meaningful impacts nationwide.”

“As the society evolved, we urged all charitable organisations to adopt sustainable practices and rethink their operation models in the communities they served, including exploring renewable energy, recycling and reusing resources, and even forming alliances with other organisations to seek solutions to improve the efficiency of their resources,” Dato’ Sri Tan Kong Han added.

Among the beneficiaries, Victor Maniam, General Manager of Yayasan Sunbeams Home expressed his heartfelt gratitude: “This financial aid is a true blessing. With the school holidays ending next week, these funds will give us the perfect opportunity for us to get our children with brand new school uniforms and supplies.”

The festivities will continue to be held in two regional presentation ceremonies. On 7 February 2025, The Penang Home for the Infirm and Aged will host the Northern region presentation event, where 33 beneficiary organisations from Penang, Kedah, Perlis, and Perak will receive RM450,000. Meanwhile, the Southern region presentation event will be held on 14 February 2025 at Putuo Village, Kulai, Johor, benefiting 32 organisations from Johor, Melaka, and Negeri Sembilan with RM450,000.
