Da Ma Cai, hosted a magical Christmas celebration for the children at Praise Emmanuel Children’s Home, Petaling jaya (PECH). The “Staff-In-The-Community" charity event, brought together 12 bright-eyed children aged 7 to 17 and a team of dedicated staff volunteers from Da Ma Cai for a day of unforgettable fun, togetherness, and holiday spirit.
The event kicked off with a generous gift of an All-in-One Desktop computer to PECH to support the children’s online tuition and homework, helping them bridge the digital gap and access the resources they need.
"Education is the key to the future and computer literacy is surely essential in this part of the journey. This computer arrives just in time as some of our computers have broken down,” said Pastor Isaac Solomon, the manager of PECH while the children eagerly gathered around the new computer.
Following this, the children’s faces lit up with joy as they were taken to an indoor theme park and took part in exciting rides and games. From thrilling bike races to challenging obstacle plays, the children and staff volunteers teamed up and shared plenty of laughs while they go through the park’s attractions.
After all the fun, the group was treated to a delightful Christmas lunch where everyone enjoyed delicious food, laughter, and heartfelt conversations. The tables were piled high with holiday favourites: burgers, pasta, and, of course, a beautiful Christmas desserts to end the meal on a sweet note.
“This coming Christmas, all I want is a pair of nice shoes so that I could dress up before going to church,” tells 8-year-old Lashmanan Segar.
Therefore, to end the day on a high note, Da Ma Cai staff volunteers took the children on a Christmas shopping spree, where each child received two pairs of shoes, picked out with care. The children walked away with brand-new shoes and hearts full of gratitude, a tangible reminder of the love and support they have received.
"The joy on the children's faces today is priceless," said Pastor Isaac Solomon. "Christmas is a time to give, to share love, and to show kindness, and we are so grateful to Da Ma Cai and all the volunteers for making this day special. It’s not just about receiving gifts; it's about the spirit of togetherness. We thank God for this opportunity and for the hearts that continue to support these children."
"Today has been nothing short of a blessing," shared one of the volunteers. "Seeing the children smile and knowing we made a difference in their lives is what Christmas is all about."
Praise Emmanuel Children’s Home (PECH) was established in January 2004 by Rev. Roberts Pandian, Brother Christopher, and a dedicated group of church supporters. What began as a small initiative with just two children has since grown into a thriving care home that now supports 15 children. PECH offers a safe, nurturing, and supportive environment for children in need, providing not only shelter but a loving community where they can grow and thrive.
