Da Ma Cai makeover Pusat Jagaan Anbe Sivam for Deepavali

Deepavali symbolises the triumph of light over darkness, with Deepavali just around the corner, Da Ma Cai staff volunteers through its ongoing Corporate Social Responsibility initiative, Staff-in-the-Community, shone a light on the lives of the residents at Pusat Jagaan Anbe Sivam, ensuring that the festival of lights is a little brighter this year.

The team of volunteers from Da Ma Cai has improved the living conditions at Pusat Jagaan Anbe Sivam through various efforts. One of the key efforts was repainting the Home's hall, infusing the communal space with new life. The newly painted hall is now bright, welcoming, and comforting.

In addition to their hands-on contributions, Da Ma Cai generously donated a range of daily necessities, including electrical appliances, groceries, toiletries, and stationeries to ensure the well-being of the Home’s residents. To further support the home’s basic expenses, Da Ma Cai also provided RM5,000 shopping vouchers for the Home to purchase additional daily necessities for this Deepavali festive.

This Deepavali initiative reflects Da Ma Cai’s dedication to uplifting marginalised communities, and is part of Da Ma Cai's broader commitment to corporate social responsibility, encouraging employees to engage in volunteer work.

Speaking about the initiative, a Da Ma Cai representative said, “We are grateful for the opportunity to come together in spreading Deepavali joy and lend a helping hand to the Home. Our Staff-in-the-Community program allows us to not only provide material assistance but also foster connections with the residents, making a positive difference in their lives and ours too.”

Founded in 2004, Pusat Jagaan Anbe Sivam is a charitable home that cares for underprivileged children, special needs individuals, single mothers, and elderly residents. Currently, the home is sheltering 23 individuals.

The home's founder, Mr K. Muthurajah said, “The support from Da Ma Cai has brought immense joy to our residents. The freshly painted hall and the generous donations will make a lasting impact on the quality of life here.”
