Accumulated for a long period, a lucky winner finally took home the Da Ma Cai 1+3D Jackpot of RM19,654,734 on 5 May. Two other winners who played House Share System Bet shared the remaining prize of RM259,545. In total, Da Ma Cai distributed a total Jackpot prize of RM19,913,979.
The lucky 59-year-old man from Melaka has no confidence to retire amid the economic downturn. "Currently my monthly salary is spent on food, housing loan, and car loan, I can barely keep a little money. Although my son has graduated, he has just started working in a company based in Kuala Lumpur as an intern and still requires family support. Even with the Employee Provident Fund's latest announcement on the launch of Account 3, I am reluctant to withdraw the money as the fund is meant for retirement.
He added, "Be rational and not overbuy is my strategy, each time I only buy RM2; I believe that winning the Jackpot requires persistence in addition to luck, so I have been trying this set of 2257 + 2930 winning pair for several months. After I scanned the ticket through dmcGO and found that I had won, it took me eight days to come forward to claim my prize. My family and I had planned how to use this windfall wisely. Taking into consideration my financial situation, some investment goals, and the needs of my family, I am grateful knowing that this newfound wealth has allowed me to have retirement all planned out. Following in the footsteps of Da Ma Cai in donating to The Community Chest, I will also donate part of the winning to the education cause.
